Your Start as a Student Assistant

Would you like to boost your monthly budget while also laying the foundation for your future career? At ELA Container, a role as a student assistant gives you exciting insights into our work. Your working student position is tailored to your study schedule and time availability. This allows you to gain relevant practical experience during your studies, learn a lot, and build up a valuable network within our company.

Working students dive deep into everyday business right from the start. At the same time, we want to make sure your studies do not fall by the wayside, which is why we aim to organize your role with us as flexibly as possible. Here is an overview of the most important facts:

  • You can apply all year round for a role as a student assistant. Use our open working student job postings or send us an unsolicited application at least five weeks before your preferred start date.
  • When you apply, tell us which department you would like to work in and how much time you are available to dedicate to the job.
  • You can choose the duration and the start date flexibly. As a rule, you receive a fixed-term contract until the end of your studies.
  • You have the opportunity to immerse yourself in different working environments. Whether at one of our German or international locations, many doors are open to you.

Your First Days

Our onboarding, a multi-day program that you complete during your first days with us, gives you a strong overview of our company, products, and processes. If you start during the semester break, you work full-time with us during the first week and a half. If you join the team during the semester, the onboarding is spread across several weeks on your fixed working days. Naturally, you are paid as usual during this time.

You Hit the Ground Running

With your mentor by your side, you then get to know your responsibilities. After a short orientation phase, you are fully integrated and can actively contribute to current projects.

We adapt your working hours to your current studies so that you can organize your time flexibly. That means your working hours can also vary depending on whether you are attending university or are in a lecture-free period.

  • As a working student, you may work up to 20 hours per week during the semester and up to 40 hours per week during the semester break. If an important exam is coming up, you can also reduce your hours at short notice by arrangement to prepare properly.
  • Would you like to travel with your friends or simply need a short break? As a working student, you can of course take vacation too. You are entitled to two vacation days per month.

Wherever your strengths lie, there is a place for you in our team. Whether you calculate faster than any pocket calculator, love writing, or are a natural in sales, our specialist areas are as diverse as our applicants. That means you have many options for joining us as a working student. These are the commercial and production-related areas waiting for you:

  • Controlling and Finance
  • Digital Transformation
  • Purchasing
  • IT
  • Customer Service
  • Logistics
  • Management Systems
  • Marketing
  • Human Resources
  • Technology and Construction
  • Sales
  • Administration and Service

Have you found an area that perfectly matches your interests and development potential? Great. It is best to mention your preferred department directly in your application. And if you are torn between two or more areas, we will work with you to find the best fit for your strengths.

The most important requirement we have for you is this: you are studying, whether for a bachelor’s or master’s degree, in the humanities, business, engineering, or information technology. To feel truly comfortable with us, it is ideal if you also bring these qualities with you:

  • Your working student role is related to your bachelor’s or master’s degree, or you have already gained some initial practical experience in a relevant field.
  • You have a good command of spoken and written German and English.
  • You are available between six and a maximum of 20 hours per week for the working student role.

The first point in particular helps you get familiar with your day-to-day tasks more quickly and settle into the work environment. We are also excited to see the ideas you bring with you from your studies. And if you would rather gain experience in a field that is new to you, we can find a solution for that together as well.

With us, you can get started regardless of your degree program or grades. We want you with all your edges and corners. Show us who you are and approach your tasks and challenges with motivation. If you also enjoy working in a team, want to become part of an international family business, and want to actively shape your future, then you have come to the right place so that together we can achieve great things.
