Your Thesis at ELA

If you’d like to write your thesis with a high degree of practical relevance and the benefit of expert knowledge, then say goodbye to the countless hours spent at the university library and choose a topic with ELA that fills you with passion. Get to know us in an internship, discover your strengths, and write your thesis on a practical topic, whether it’s for your bachelor’s or your master’s degree. With your key role in the team and the support of experienced colleagues, you can energize your thesis, actively help us shape the container industry of tomorrow, and lay the perfect foundation for your career at ELA with your thesis.

From Application to Thesis – Program Structure

First things first: if you’re interested in writing your thesis at ETA, you should first complete an internship with us. The advantage is that you’ll have the opportunity to get acquainted with the team and your new tasks before you begin writing your thesis – no extensive onboarding process necessary.

Application and Topic Selection

Around four to six weeks before your desired start date, send us your application documents and include your preferred area of expertise and your rough ideas for a topic. We can finalize your topic together during your internship at the latest.

By the way,

we accept applications all year and are already looking forward to hearing your exciting ideas.

Your Thesis – One Step at a Time

Internships are generally possible at any German location and, upon request, at one of our international locations. You’ll begin your time at ELA with a comprehensive

onboarding-program

alongside other new interns and employees, after which you’ll be able to get to work in your own department:

You’ll undergo an intensive onboarding process to get acquainted with the areas of responsibility associated with your internship – with the support of your sponsor.

During your internship, we’ll define a topic for your thesis together.

Once you get started on your thesis, you’ll have at least three days a week just for writing and will spend the other two days working for us at the company.

We’ll provide you with internal data, studies, and interview partners and help you with your writing process.

We’ll also conduct a prospects meeting with you once you’ve completed your thesis.

Hard Facts – Working Hours and Vacation Days at ELA

During your internship, you’ll support us 40 hours a week. Whether you’re an early riser or prefer to sleep in, our flextime system will allow you to start your workday between 7 and 9 a.m. You’ll have 45 minutes of energizing break time, which you can use throughout the day as you choose – for a delicious lunch, stimulating conversation, and so much more. Depending on when you start in the morning, you can leave as early as 4 o’clock in the afternoon, ensuring you have enough time to meet with friends and pursue your hobbies. Special highlight on Friday: we usually call it quits at 1 p.m., allowing you to ease into your weekend without all the rush. Beginning your thesis will introduce a little variety into your daily routine. Rather than a full week, you’ll only be working with us two days – and can dedicate the rest of the time entirely to your writing.

If you’re working hard, you’re going to need the occasional break to think about other things, which is why you’ll earn two vacation days for every full month of your internship.

Finding the Right Department for You

With such a diverse range of work divisions at ELA, you as an applicant can write your thesis in just about any area of the company, whether you’re a whiz with numbers, a technophile, or have the gift of gab. You can choose between these commercial and production-oriented departments:

Digital Transformation

Purchasing

IT

Customer Service

Logistics

Management Systems

Marketing

Human Resources

Technology and Construction

Sales

Administration and Service

Regardless of which you ultimately choose, what’s important to us is that you enjoy your work with and for ELA. So please feel free to share your preferred area with us when you apply, and let’s find the best solution for you together.

We’re Looking for You

We at ELA are committed to diversity and authenticity. We’re looking for young, motivated, and talented people from a variety of specialized and academic backgrounds who are interested in delving into the world of ELA to help overhaul processes or further develop our individual areas. Ideally, you’ll be open-minded and curious and identify with our products and visions. At ELA, we tend to work in teams, which is why we’re always happy to welcome helpful team players into the ELA family.

Your Skills

Writing your thesis in collaboration with ELA requires an ongoing bachelor’s or master’s degree course. The current enrollment certificate from your university will suffice as a form of proof of your studies. In addition to being a student, you should also be proficient in German and English. Some practical experience in your field of choice would be advantageous, as it would allow you to settle in with us more quickly and ultimately write a high-quality specialized thesis.
