Have you signed the contract and are now counting the days until you can get started at our company? We feel the same way. We’ve put together an exciting two-week onboarding program to ensure your introduction to the training or integrated degree course is perfect. You’ll have the opportunity not only to explore all of the departments, but also to get to know your team. You and other trainees will be able to get your hands dirty – for example, when building a container. You can look forward to lots of new knowledge and helpful colleagues, who will accompany you on your journey at ELA.
Once you’ve accepted, you’ll receive your contract documents by mail – you’ll sign both copies and send one back to us. Just before you get started, we’ll send you an email containing all relevant information – for example, what time you should be there on your first day and where to report.
To make you feel a little less nervous before you get started, we’ll invite you to a WhatsApp group with other trainees and integrated degree students, which will allow you in advance to network, exchange information, and look forward to your upcoming time at ELA together. The icing on the cake is the “ELA Youngster Introduction Evening” with you, your parents, and other newbies. Your parents will have the opportunity to get better acquainted with ELA and ask any questions they may have, as you and other trainees and integrated degree students attend a company rally.
For all of the newbies, their time at ELA begins at the Welcome Center at the head office in Haren (Ems) at 7:45 a.m. on August 1. Tip: Talk to other trainees and integrated degree students in the WhatsApp group to form carpools and thus start your first day in a more relaxed way.
Your first day will largely be about organization and getting to know each other. We’ll begin by introducing ourselves to you and providing you with work clothing for your training. Around noon, we’ll bring in some pizza for all the newbies – for a perfect end to a perfect day.
With the aid of our tailored training program, we’ll lead you into the world of ELA one step at a time. Whether you’re starting out in the office or in production, our one-week onboarding process will first acquaint you with all of the production halls. We’ll take you to different area of focus every day, giving you the opportunity to help build a container or ride along in one of our trucks, for example. That way, you’ll not only get better acquainted with us and our products, but also the entire ELA family.
The highlight in the first few weeks will be a digital workday, during which all of the commercial departments will introduce themselves, allowing you to get acquainted with all of the key contacts and find out which processes and tasks they’re responsible for.
To ensure you’re ideally prepared to start your career in the individual departments or production halls, we offer all new trainees and integrated degree students special workshops such as phone and driving safety training, Word and Excel training courses and an escape game on the subject of health.
After around two weeks of onboarding, your workday at ELA can really kick off. Now you can get started in your department or production hall with all of the knowledge you’ve acquired through training. But don’t worry, you’re not on your own. Your new team is always available to answer any questions you may have or alleviate your concerns, and looks forward to supporting you as begin your work at ELA. You will gradually be incorporated into everyday operations and assume more and more responsibility.
Starting a new vocational training or integrated degree program can be stressful for anyone, which is why our trainees and integrated degree students prefer to take their lunch breaks together or meet up for pizza after work to discuss their experiences and develop friendships.
Congratulations! You’ve achieved your first major milestone after four months. You’ll get together with our training supervisor to discuss your time at ELA so far and define the next steps. Then you can celebrate having successfully passed your trial period.
