Our Onboarding Program for Your Perfect Start

Is your new job at ELA fast approaching, and are you ready for action? Perfect! Our onboarding process has the answer. Our approach at ELA is to be active rather than observe. After all, we not only offer you exciting company presentations, tours, and organizational information, but also invite you to take a look behind the scenes and experience our production processes firsthand. For example, you’ll have the opportunity to actively help us build our containers and thus gain new perspectives as well as insight into all the production areas.

Before you

start

Contract documents

Shortly after you receive a confirmation from us, we'll send you two copies of your contract documents. You'll sign both copies and send one of them back to us. The other one is for you to hold on to.

Preparation for Onboarding

Are you counting the days until you get started? Shortly before your first day of onboarding, we'll send you an email with all the information you'll need. The onboarding process is usually held at our head office in Haren (Ems). If you've been hired at a different location, we'll organize your travel to and from the event as well as accommodations. Employees from other locations therefore have the exclusive opportunity to sleep in one of our Container Tiny Houses.

Your first

day

Greeting

Your first day starts with a warm welcome in our Welcome Center. You will then receive an introduction to our company and our company presentation will give you a deeper insight into ELA and how we work.

IT training and safety instruction

In a practical IT introduction, you will get to know the most important digital tools and systems that you will need for your daily work. You will also receive safety training to familiarize you with all relevant regulations - so you can settle into your new working environment safely and well prepared right from the start.

Your Team and Your Workplace

During the course of the day, you'll meet your mentor and together you'll make your way to your department or production hall, where you'll have the opportunity to get acquainted with your colleagues and your workstation.

Your first

week

Now it's getting practical

For our truck drivers, customer service employees and plant fitters, the practical part of the onboarding process - affectionately known as the "trainee" - is now starting. During this week, you will gain exciting insights into our production, get to know different fields of activity and become active yourself - for example by helping to build our containers. All other new colleagues go through our further onboarding program.

Introductory events and training courses

In your first week, you will immerse yourself in the world of ELA. Through a variety of introductory events, you will not only get to know our company better, but also receive practical training on our software solutions so that you feel confident in your new job right from the start.

Presentation of the commercial departments

To provide you with an even better understanding of our company, we'll organize two half days on which all commercial departments introduce themselves and explain their activities. You'll also learn which contacts you can turn to for which topics.

Your second

week

Deepening of corporate culture and work processes

The second week is all about understanding our corporate culture, our products and our work processes even better. The commercial areas will also introduce themselves - you will visit the individual areas directly in the halls and gain exciting insights into the respective activities. You can also attend targeted individual appointments with colleagues from relevant departments, for example from Marketing or Central Order Management, to get to know processes even better.

Hands-on Training

If you start with us in sales or in the technical area, another central component of your onboarding is the practical assignment - known to us as a "trainee". You'll have the opportunity to explore all of the production halls and get a taste of the different areas of responsibility. This is a chance for you to get better acquainted with our product, our processes, and our employees without all the stress. Including hands-on activities, such as building a container or going for a ride in a truck! You can look forward to many exciting impressions.

Optimal balance between learning and arriving

With the exception of the full-day practical assignments, all training and activities only take place in short units. This gives you enough time to settle into your department and get to know your new colleagues better.

Beyond the first

days

Starting Your Daily Work Routine

Now that you've gained many new impressions and extensive knowledge, you're ready to dive headfirst into your new job. You'll be entrusted with more and more responsibility over time. Your new colleagues will always be there to help you as you settle in and to answer any questions you may have.

Open Corporate Culture

Thanks to our open corporate culture, it's easy to connect with the many different departments and people. A friendly “hello” is always welcome. Maintaining contact with your colleagues will provide you with exciting insights and offer new perspectives.

After three

months

Feedback discussion

After around three months, it's time for an initial feedback meeting with your manager. Together you will discuss how your start has gone, what is going well and where there is potential for development.

After six

months

End of the Trial Period

Your trial period will end after six months. We look forward to having you on our team!
