Is your new job at ELA fast approaching, and are you ready for action? Perfect. Our onboarding process has the answer. Our approach at ELA is to be active rather than just observe. After all, we not only offer you exciting company presentations, tours, and organizational information, but also invite you to take a look behind the scenes and experience our production processes firsthand. For example, you'll have the opportunity to actively help us build our containers and thus gain new perspectives as well as insight into all the production areas.
Once you have received your offer, we will first send you a digital version of your contract documents for review and shortly afterwards two printed copies by post. You sign both copies and send one of them back to us. The other one is for you to keep.
Shortly before your start date, we will send you an email with all relevant information for your first onboarding day. Employees from Haren, our international colleagues, and sales employees from all locations come to our headquarters in Haren (Ems) for onboarding. Travel and accommodation are arranged. For other German locations, we offer an individual onboarding program with digital training and personal induction on site.
Your first day starts with a warm welcome in our Welcome Center. Afterwards, you will receive an introduction to our company and our company presentation will give you deeper insight into ELA and the way we work.
In a practical IT introduction, you will get to know the most important digital tools and systems you need for your daily work. You will also receive safety training that familiarizes you with all relevant regulations so that you can settle into your new work environment feeling safe and well prepared from day one.
During the day you will meet your buddy. Together, you will head to your department or production hall, where you will get to know your colleagues and familiarize yourself with your workplace. For almost all industrial employees, further induction now begins directly at the workplace.
For our truck drivers, customer service employees, and plant fitters, the practical part of onboarding now begins – lovingly called "trainee" here. During this week, you get exciting insights into our production, get to know different fields of activity, and become active yourself, for example by helping to build our containers. All other new colleagues continue through our broader onboarding program.
In your first week, you will immerse yourself in the world of ELA. Through varied introductory events, you will not only get to know our company better, but also receive practical training on our software solutions so that you feel confident in your new job from the very beginning.
To help you integrate further into our company, we organize two half days during which all commercial departments introduce their responsibilities and contact persons. This helps you understand who to approach for which topics.
The second week is about understanding our corporate culture, our products, and our work processes even better. The industrial divisions also introduce themselves – you visit the individual areas directly in the halls and gain exciting insights into the respective activities. You can also schedule one-on-one sessions with colleagues from relevant interfaces in order to understand processes even better.
If you start with us in sales or in a technical area, another key part of your onboarding is the practical assignment. You explore our production hall and get a look at the different areas of responsibility there. Hands-on participation included – because you help with the construction of our containers. You can also join a ride in one of our trucks.
All training sessions and activities, apart from the full-day practical assignments, only take place in short units. That leaves you enough time to settle into your department and get to know your new colleagues better.
You have gathered plenty of new impressions and knowledge and are now ready to really get going in your new job. Step by step, you will take on more and more responsibility. Your new colleagues support you during your induction and always have an open ear for your questions.
Thanks to our open corporate culture, it is easy to connect with a wide range of departments and people. A friendly "Moin" from every corner is part of everyday life. The constant exchange with your colleagues creates exciting insights and new perspectives.
After around three months, it is time for an initial feedback meeting with your manager. Together, you will discuss how your start has gone, what is going well, and where there is potential for development.
Another important milestone has been reached: your probationary period ends after six months. We are happy to have you on the team.
